| Temporary Close...
I originally made this blog as a means of letting my friends in Australia know what was going on in my life during my tenure in Germany. However, now I have returned and I see these people almost every week, I really don't see the point in keeping this blog going... I'm too busy at the moment.
If anything spectacular happens, I'll update...
-Sam!
PS. I'm keeping this account open because I will still be commenting on other people's blogs as often as possible, but I just can't be bothered updating my own right now. | | |
| Becky and I have just spent the entire weekend together at my Dad's house and the whole experience was incredible. For example, Saturday night involved the following things: -12 Candles -A spa bath -A box of Lindt Swiss chocolate -A bottle of Blue Sapphire
...Nuff said*.
I have never been so happy with another person in all my life. The way that Becky and I are able to be so comfortable around is each other is amazing... everything just feels right. Although we had the house to ourselves for the weekend, she got to meet my dad, step-mother and half-sister... which all went very well. My family really like Becky and on the way home from dropping her off at the Townie, they said nothing but praise for her. It made me feel so happy, because in my eyes it was a further sign of how well our whole situation is working. I love Becky, Becky loves me, our families are really happy for the both of us... it's great!

| Well, it's my birthday today so I thought I would do a post and let you all know what has been going on. Today Al, Doc, Dav, Lucas, Becky and I went out for lunch to Jupiters Casino... the food was pretty ordinary (but the dessert and company compensated nicely for the bland main course). After that we went to the snooker hall and shot some pool a while, which was great for general conversation. It was nice catching up with everyone again, because as most of you know, I haven't seen any of these guys in over 20 months. They had all changed a lot in their own unique ways, but they were still very much as I remembered them. It was great for Becky to finally meet "the guys" and see the people I usually hang out with. As I expected, they all got along really well and the whole day had a fun, light-hearted mood about it. Speaking about Becky, I had the most wonderful weekend with her. I finally got to meet her father, who was home this weekend and I think everything went very smoothly. Becky took me out for dinner and a movie on Sunday evening and both were fantastic. We went to the Hog's Breath Cafe, where I consumed the best steak I have ever eaten. This was followed up by the hilarious and action-packed Chinese film Kung Fu Hustle. The entire experience really brought Becky and I closer together, and further improved the casualness between us both. So as you can all imagine, I have had a fantastic birthday... Thankyou everyone!

| For those of you who haven't been speaking to me regularly on MSN, this whole post will seem like a complete "180" when compared to the way events have been shaping up over the past 3 weeks.
I met up with Becky in Brisbane city on Monday. It was originally going to be a "day out", with the possibilty of me staying the night at her house if we really hit it off. Well to cut a long story short, it turned into a 3 day event and Becky and I are now officially together. I know that this might surprise some people, and I guess it's hard to explain what happened to people who weren't there. The simple fact of the matter is that Becky and I just work. Things between us are so comfotable and relaxed... I feel so happy when I'm with her.

| Greetings! My flight back from Sweden was quite good, although it was a very long trip… 28 hours. On both of my longer flights I had the seat next to me empty, so luckily I always had enough room. Now I’m back in Perth and it is so weird being around people who speak “Australian” again.
A common trend on everyone’s blog this week has been to post lyrics that somehow fit their lives. As most of you know, I’m a big fan of The Stranglers and I have been listening to them a lot recently (Just in case any of you were wondering, no, I didn’t discover them from the Snatch soundtrack. My parents used to play The Stranglers when I was a child). The following song’s lyrics… well, you’re all smart enough… work them out:
The Stranglers – Strange Little Girl One day you see a strange little girl look at you One day you see a strange little girl feeling blue She’d run to the town one day Leaving home and her country fair Just beware When you’re there Strange little girl
She didn’t know how to live in a town that was rough It didn’t take long before she knew she'd had enough Walking home in her wrapped up world She survived but she’s feeling old 'Cause she found All things cold
Strange little girl Where are you going? Strange little girl Where are you going? Do you know where You could be going?
Walking home in her wrapped up world She survived but she’s feeling old 'Cause she found All things cold
Strange little girl Where are you going? Strange little girl Where are you going? Do you know where You could be going? Strange little girl Where are you going? Strange little girl Where are you going? Do you know where You could be going?
